Day 1
Day 1: Giverny & Bayeux
This morning you will visit the charming town of Giverny and the home of the Impressionist painter, Claude Monet. Explore his house and stunning gardens, filled with some of the most brilliant blooms in France. Not to be missed are the Japanese Gardens, which were the inspiration for his famous “Waterlilies”.
This afternoon you will arrive in the medieval village of Bayeux with its famous 11th century Bayeux Tapestry. It retraces William the Conqueror’s famous victory at Hastings and it is not only historical but also breathtaking. Also worth a visit is the Notre Dame Cathedral, consecrated in 1077. Toast your first day with a glass of the famous apple-based Calvados wine!

Day 2
Day 2: Honfleur-Deauville
After a delicious breakfast, depart for the colorful town of Honfleur and its famous inner port. Honfleur is a small maritime village with winding cobblestone streets. It was once home to many Impressionist painters, including Claude Monet. Situated on the Seine Estuary, you can imagine the sailors and adventurers departing this port town for the New World so many centuries ago.
Explore the art galleries and small shops. Visit the Vieux Basin (the old dock) in the heart of the town with its narrow houses overlooking the harbor. The Eugene Bodin Museum with its famous paintings is also one of our favorite places! Enjoy a glass of wine and some of the local cheese today.
Your next stop is one of the “grande dames” of the Normandy seaside, glamorous Deauville. With Belle Époque opulence, Deauville invites you to partake in and enjoy its racecourses, polo matches, palaces, casino, gardens and luxurious shops. The boardwalk known as the Promenade des Planches, stretches along the sea. This is the place to relax in a cabana, sip a drink and stare at the sea. You may even spot some celebrities here!

Day 3
Day 3: WWII Landing Beaches
Today is a day of touring the American WWII sites and particularly the D-Day Landing Beaches. On June 6, 1944, British, American and Canadian troops piled onto the beaches of the Normandy coast, breaking down the Nazi defenses. The region was indelibly marked by these events. A private tour of Normandy’s northern coastline allows for a powerful first-hand experience of the forceful reminders of WWII. Day 4
Day 4: Mont Saint Michel
Today you explore one of the most awe-inspiring wonders of France, the incomparable Mont Saint Michel, with its Benedictine abbey perched precariously on a high rocky islet. A journey to the island and a climb to the top of the abbey will reward you with stunning views of the bay. Mont Saint Michel has an illustrious history- it was designed to be a fortress as well as a shrine. It first protected Brittany from the Normans and then the French from the British over the years. During the French Revolution, the abbey was used as a prison. After exploring the abbey, wander the island and partake in a meal in one of the restaurants that are tucked into the Mont. Of course, your private guide will be with you every step of the way!
Return to Paris or perhaps continue on to the Loire Valley late this afternoon.
