  • Day 1

    Historic Barcelona

Take a private tour of the Gothic quarter of the city today. This is the center of the old city and it extends from the Mediterranean Sea into the heart of Barcelona. You will see all of the most important attractions here-the most important being the imposing Catalan Gothic Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar. Your guide will reveal all of the secrets of the history of Barcelona, as you see the remains of the Roman  Temple of Augustus, the splendor of the Romanesque churches and monasteries, perfectly preserved; public buildings and palaces of the new social classes which emerged as a result of the wealth brought by the sea.

  • Day 2

    Gaudi’s Barcelona: Sagrada Familia Basilica

Today is a good day to explore Gaudi’s Barcelona. At the start of the 20 th century,  Barcelona underwent a notable transformation into a modern, thriving city that was suitable for the new Catalan bourgeoisie, and which looked enthusiastically to its European neighbors with a desire to be seen as an equal. The architecture that line the city’s wide streets is from the Modernism movement and Barcelona is the home of the movement’s greatest master, Antoni Gaudi. Explore the Paseo de Gracia, where you will see some of the most outstanding Modernist architecture. Continue on to the Sagrada Familia Basilica, one of Spain’s most breathtaking Basilicas. It is also one of Gaudi’s most famous works. This Basilica has been under constant construction since 1882 and is the most visited of all places in Barcelona. Of course, your guide will be with you, sharing the history of the building, its architect and the city. Continue on to Park Guell, a “must see” park composed of unique gardens, art and architecture.

  • Day 3

    Museums & Shopping in Barcelona

Barcelona offers so much in terms of art and architecture. Where should you begin? The spectacular National Art Museum atop Montjuic or contemporary galleries such as Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art or the Center of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona welcome you to visit! Of course, the Palau de la Musica Catalana or the Picasso Museum are some of our favorites. Our professional art guide will be with you to open the doors to Barcelona’s most famous museums as well as some of the less well-known (but amazing) galleries for those who may like to purchase some art of their own! For those who enjoy shopping, Barcelona has so much to offer! Art and artisan shops, the most magnificent of markets and food shops and fashion-forward boutiques are ready for some retail therapy. We know the best places to visit and our guide will tailor your day to your interests.

  • Day 5

    Montserrat & Penedès

We have an amazing day of adventure in store for you! This morning, your driver and guide will pick you up to take you outside of the city to Montserrat. Emblematic of Catalonia, this magnificent mountain and its sanctuary are full of history, legend and ancient culture. The monastery of Montserrat is located in a unique natural environment and you will have an opportunity to venture among its corners and its unique landscapes. Visit Montserrat Sanctuary, where you will have a tour and where you will also have the pleasure of listening to the Escolania, one of the oldest boys’ choirs in all of Europe. There has been a religious music school in existence here since the 14th century. The choir will perform The Virolai hymn for you before you continue into the countryside for some wine touring.

The culture of wine is linked to the flavors of and life in Barcelona. A short trip to the Penedès will lead you to centuries-old wineries surrounded by acres of vineyards.  Here, the winery owner will open the doors to the authentic flavor of Catalan wines and cavas. The experience will continue with a tour of the vineyard, where you will enjoy the breathtaking Penedès landscape.

  • Day 6

    Girona

Catalonia has many charming corners and today is a day of adventure beyond Barcelona to visit some medieval towns and coastal landscapes.
